Burn the Fat with Weights
Contrary to popular belief, lifting weights will help you to burn off fat. The more muscle mass that you gain the more fat you will burn off. This even works while you are sleeping. Muscle, as we know, weighs more than fat. Aerobics are not the only way to shed the fat. When your weight lifting routine is pumped and quick, you are actually getting a cardio routine with the weights.
If you are looking to shed more fat quicker, combine a cardio workout with your weight strengthening workout and it will increase the amount of speed in which you loose the fat. Of course, if you add cardio to your routine, be sure to make the necessary adjustments to your weight routine so that everything balances out.
After your weightlifting workout routine, you go through a recuperation period. During this recuperation period, your muscles are still going strong with a high metabolism and it is the perfect time to start your cardio routine. Your heart rate will already be increased and by adding the cardio so soon will keep your heart rate up and therefore increase the loss of fat.
It is also important to have the routine balanced out. You will find that the fat loss will be a little slower by combining the routine with weights but you are also gaining muscle mass at the same time. If you are lifting weights as apart of your routine for losing fat, stay away from fad diets or miracle pills. Even though these are to help you lose weight, you will find that you will gain that weight back fact with muscle mass and the fat lose will not be as great.
Make sure that you are warming up and stretching before and after ever workout. This will keep your muscles active and your body will continue to burn the fat even while you are having a rest period. Speaking of which, rest is also just as important for your body to heal and repair itself. Without the proper down time, you risk injury.
