Buns of Steel

bunssteelThere have been many exercise trends, which have faded away whereas others have been proved to work repeatedly. The Buns of Steel program certainly fits the latter category. Having helped many women to get in shape and stay fit, this program uses a unique method, which tones the legs and rear.

Aerobics Comes First

A warm-up is the first step of the program and Tammy Webb starts with an aerobics section – a move that was uncommon with the exercise pros in the 80’s and early 90’s. Generally, the aerobics section was left for the last part of the program.

Beginning with aerobics was a prudent step because if it were left to the end, you would usually be too tired to do it properly. Therefore, your exercise routine would not be very effective.

Jane Fonda’s routine often left me too tired to maximize the benefits of doing aerobics. However, once I began Buns of Steel, I noticed how different and good I felt. Not only did it tone my muscles, it also targeted my areas of concern.

The Rest of the Routine

Tammy Webb is a great instructor who really emphasizes the advantages of working the biggest muscles in one’s body by doing exercises that target them, like squats.

This is only one of the many things that I learnt from her routine. She also taught me that a warm up should be the first step of any exercise program after which the fat burning cardio section of the routine should be executed.

This is because one is generally too tired to do the cardio portion at the end, which makes it ineffective. The Buns of Steel program ends with the isometric holds. Finally, one should finish off with a few cool down exercises.

Apart from the Buns of Steel program, there are also other programs that I incorporate in to my routine. Pilates DVDs, Tae Bo, and other exercise tapes are all used by me although Tammy Webb’s Buns of Steel is the one that I use on a consistent basis. It is a great foundation for my workout routine and I really enjoy it.
