Build more muscle in less time

People now a day’s workout a lot to make a bodybuilder physique. By working out here, means that they lift weights only. They neglect the other sources of exercises, like cycling, jogging, yoga, walking, etc.

Running and cycling helps in burning the excessive calories. Walking is also very productive and can be followed every day.  Yoga and stretching exercise should also be performed. However, flexibility is the most neglect aspect in fitness. To build up muscles, people train far too frequently, but it’s astonishing to know the fact, that only a little high intensity exercise can bring out great results.

A study was conducted recently on eight golfers of middle age. This study was to prove that a little exercise could increase the strength and improve the performance. The golfers were asked to perform six exercises on one day and six different exercises on the next workout day. A static hold of about ten to twenty seconds was included in each exercise. In this exercise a weight was held statically in a position, sometimes with some help, for some time. These exercises were of 60 to 120 seconds of duration. These golfers performed a total of four to nine workouts in a period of six weeks. That means they performed the minutest of actual exercise for six per week.

You must be thinking about the results in these golfers. Well the result was astonishing. Measurements of their strength in twelve muscle groups, before and after the exercise were compared to calculate the total improvement. The over all total improvement was about 84%. Amazing isn’t it?

This is because the golfers were exercising in a way which did not involve stretching or moving the weights. These golfers also showed improved performance. Thus getting improvement in experienced golfers is level of success. Getting improvement with just 14 minutes of exercise for a period of six weeks is revolutionary.

From the above experiment, the conclusion is, that workouts can be spread further apart as a person gets stronger. A static hold time, half of what the golfers did can also do wonders. For a better body and strength, efficient strength training methods and frequency is more than enough. Intense workouts are just an old full time hobby.
