This green leafy vegetable is one of the most nutritious and healthy food item present around whose consumption can yield long term health benefits. Being an excellent source of beta-carotene, spinach reduces the risk of developing cataracts along with aiding in the protection of the body against heart diseases and the life threatening cancer. Thus spinach is the natural healer and an invaluable vegetable which must be included in everyone’s diet to attain optimum health. However, one should try to consume this invaluable vegetable in its raw form as cooking it might lead to a loss of some vital nutrients.
