By taking care of your hygiene you can usually eliminate many cases of halitosis and have better breath.

Another step when you want to avoid bad breath with a thorough oral routine is to rinse your mouth, but keep in mind that many mouthwashes contain a large amount of alcohol. If you rinse using a mouthwash with alcohol, you can dry out your mouth and make your bad breath worse. Use an alcohol-free brand, or be sure to rinse with water after using one of those other products.
Brushing your teeth is one of the most basic parts of how to avoid bad breath with a thorough oral routine but you need to pay attention to how you brush as well. Many people neglect the inside of their teeth, the areas of their mouth, and their tongue all of which can hold bacteria that causes bad breath. Brushing your teeth is just like washing anything else, you need to do a thorough job in every area in order for it to be effective. Imagine washing dishes but neglecting to do the inside of the glasses or the edges of the plates.
