Atkins Diet Plan – A Low Carb Diet Plan
The right and proper diet plays a very important role in the weight loss program. It not only results in losing and burning the extra layer of fats but it also helps to maintain the lost weight. Therefore, it is very important to choose and opt for the right diet plan.
One such successful diet plan is the Atkins Diet Plan. It has a very practical approach and is very successful. It works on the principle that one should do a low carb diet so that the stored fats are used as a source of energy. In this way, the stored calories will start dropping which will ultimately result in weight loss.
This plan works in four phases. The first phase is the induction phase and it gradually leads to the fourth and last phase which is the maintenance phase.
The first phase is the induction phase in which about 20 grams of carbohydrates are included in the diet. This intake of carbohydrates is gradually increased and it should be maintained at the level where it does not lead to any increase in weight. This not only results in weight loss but also maintaining the lost weight over a permanent period of time. If there is weight gain again, then you need to move back to the first phase and gradually reach the last phase.
This diet includes the low carb food items. Some high carb and high fiber food items for the purpose of balancing the diet are also included in the diet. You can also opt for cooking your own low cab dish and also opt for the pre-package food items available in the market.
Low carb food is not so dull and uninteresting; on the contrary, it is very tasty. This plan includes about 3 meals in a day and four to five small snacks.
A number of books giving information about this diet plan as well as the recipe books are very easily and widely available everywhere, but it is very essential that one must consult a doctor and make an analysis of the pros and corns of this diet before actually following and adopting this diet plan.
