9 High protein snacks
If you want to build muscle, you will need protein. If you simply want some snacks that provide more nutrition and less fat, you can read on to find out some great high protein snacks.
Beef jerky
This one is a classic. It not only provides11 g of protein, it offers only a gram of fat. However, watch out for the more salty ones and choose some healthier ones.
Egg whites
While it gives 4 g of protein, it is fat and cholesterol free. Make yourself a nutritious mini meal with these.
Cottage cheese and fruit
This is much better than other cheeses because it contains a lot less fat and a lot more protein. However, if you are not looking to build muscle, then combine it with fresh fruit.
Tuna
Everybody knows that fish has the good fat. But this one also has a lot of protein, approximately 25 g per can, to be precise. However, stay clear of mayonnaise if you are making a sandwich.
Protein bars
Not all protein bars are good. However, Designer Whey Protein bars are a great choice with 30 g of protein and only 5 g of fat.
Shakes
You can make your own high protein shake by simply blending 2 cups of natural soy milk (without sugar), 3 egg whites, a banana, a tablespoon of natural peanut butter, 2 tablespoons flax powder or 2 teaspoons of flax seed oil and 1/3 cup of rolled oats.
Lentils
Lentils work great with soups or salad. Put some in your soup or salad and get high on protein.
Peanut butter
Spread it on a whole-wheat bread slice and not white bread. It is a great source of protein.
Oatmeal
It has a great balance of protein and good carbohydrates. Hence, it is a favourite among men who train hard. You can add cinnamon to it for some extra flavour.
Balance your life
It is all about balancing your lifestyle. Do not make compromises on your health at any time. You can store these healthy snacks in your kitchen instead of all the junk that is called food.
