In ayurveda it means the “priority”. The person is born with certain quality and certain constitution. This reflects his or her power, mental status, physical status and many other things. Ayurveda believes that there are two types of priority. One is mental constitution and another is physical constitution.
Mental constitution –
The body is divided into satvik, rajsik and tamasik priority.
SATVIK PRAKRITI –
- They are religious, loving compassionate and pure minded.
- They are very mentally stable.
- Even with hard work by brain, they usually don’t get mental fatigues.
- They are creative, humble and obedient to their teachers.
- They worship god and humanity.
- They love all and care for other people.
RAJSIK PRAKRITI –
- They are egoistic, ambitious and aggressive.
- They are proud, angry, jealous, competitive and have tendency to control other people, in that way they are good managers.
- They crave for power, prestige, positions and always trying to be in pink of perfection.
- They are hard workers but they do lack the proper planning and guidance.
- They always afraid of failure and subject to stress and get mentally disturbed with very little tease.
- They are loving, calm and patient only as long as their self-interests are served. They are good, loving, friendly and faithful only to those who are helpful to them.
- Their activities are always self-centered.
TAMASIK PRAKRITI –
- They are less intelligent.
- They tend towards depressions, laziness and excess sleep, even during the day.
- Even a bit mental work disturbs them a lot.
- They like the job of less responsibility and they are good eaters, drinkers, fond of sleeping and having sex.
- They seem to be greedy, possessive, attached, peevish and less worried about others.
