One of the most comfortable ways to get rid of those extra hairs around the eyebrow line is eyebrow waxing. However, waxing is certainly not the cup of tea for those who are gifted with very sensitive skin. Though, eyebrow waxing could be little more expensive as compared to eyebrow plucking, but waxing lasts longer too. It is always advisable for any woman in the world to undergo such delicate waxing being done under professional supervision.
Unless one has very sensitive skin, waxing is quite instant and relatively easier alternatives for plucking the eyebrows. Salons may sound very expansive but then they are professionals. But hundreds of thousands of women all across the world might want this to be done with least expense and here are those steps to follow for eyebrow waxing –
Get your eyebrows prepared
One should brush the eyebrows into their places with a baby toothbrush or some cleaned mascara wand, so that their natural shapes are neatly determined. Next, make an application of some astringents such as Witch hazel for anesthetizing the sensitive skin present under the eyebrow. Workout the natural brows shape by being several feet away from the mirror, and now get ready to follow these simple steps…
Determine the lengths of the brow
Take a ruler parallel to the nose and then level this to the inner corner of each eye, to workout where the brow begins. If the eyes are close together, you should make the gap between the eyebrows wider. If the eyes are far apart, do not wax the start line of the eyebrow too much so that they get closer together. Now mark the exact point with one visible dot.
Determine the curves of the brow
One can workout where exactly the highest point of the curves/arches should be by adjusting a ruler from the edge of the nostril pass the external edge of the iris (a part of eye) and up to the eyebrows. Mark the exact spot with visible dot there.
The final designing
Now link up the dots in a gentle arch to draw on the ideal shape of the eyebrow that you want to achieve. This will give you a guideline to go by when applying the wax. You should aim for a smooth arched brow that tapers slightly at the outer ends.
Application of the Wax
Go for some professional waxing kit – generally a jar or tub of wax that can be easily heated up in boiling water and can be easily applied through some small applicator or spatula, and (generally muslin) removal strips. Remember that each of such products varies from one another and hence, be sure reading the manufacturers’ directions cautiously.
Next step is to warm up the wax up to optimal temperature and with the help of small spatula, apply a thin layer of wax onto the extra growth of the hairs. Make sure using small amount of wax onto the spatula for avoiding the wax dripping while applying. Apply the wax at the hair growth under the brows (i.e. in same direction where the hairs grow). One should not use it much and shouldn’t let the wax dry too.
Removal of the unwanted hairs
This could be painful a bit! However, remember that one should never wax above the eyebrows, only ever shape them from below. This is because if you wax from under the brow, it widens the eyes and helps to get the lines even. This makes one look youthful and much more glamorous if performed correctly! As soon as it is applied, bump-off the wax against the direction of the hairs’ growth, (i.e. in the opposite direction that hairs grow). This can be achieved by gently smoothing some piece of cotton muslin onto the waxed area, pulling that skin taut with one hand, and pulling that muslin off with the second.
To be on safer side, it is advisable taking a little hair off at a time, particularly if one has fairly this growth. One might get surprised that how much difference just little hair removing makes to your entire visual aspect of the face and eyes.
