Face is non-ignorable part of our body. Among all the organs, it represents the condition and mood of the person and hence, it has social value too. Beautiful face attracts everyone and though rest of the physique is not so mesmerizing, is many times ignored!!!

Nowadays, washing the face means to apply a cleanser, massaging it in hence providing nourishment to it and finally rinsing it off with plain water. This means all but it is not so. Many wise women known that this is not enough at all and thus, they soak a cotton ball with some skin-toner for removing all traces of the cleanser; this refreshes the skin. At least once in 5-7 days, a facial scrub should be applied before applying any skin-toning agent, wherein a grainy cream or face-wash is massaged into skin that cleanses the pores and help getting rid of dirt and slough off dead skin cells.

Are facial scrubs necessary?

One may think that do I really need facial scrubs? In reality, the old fashioned way of using a washcloth scrubbing the skin is akin to what the facial scrub does. If one simply cleanses and rinses the skin without getting rid of the dead skin cells, there are fair chances that the skin may get flaky and finally that leads to dry look of skin that is dehydrated beneath.

Other possibilities are that the debris left alone might chocked up the pores, giving microorganisms the perfect breeding platform which can well turn in to acne. Hence regular scrubs are very much essential.

You might have come across hearing high-power exfoliation for a ruddy complexion. Using ground walnut-shell powder, facial scrubs help smoothening and softening the skin that has turned coarse from frequent sunray exposure. Men, especially apprize the inspiring feelings of such refreshing scrub. Ideally, one should use once or twice a week for a perfect radiant complexion.

Benefits of facial scrubs

Regular practicing of the facial scrubs hasten the exfoliation of unwanted, dead cells and help removing surface impurities from the skin.

Such exfoliation through scrubs makes the skin feel soft and smooth.

Scrubs made up of natural ingredients and powered by some essential nutrients such as Aloe vera with vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate), and vitamin A (retinyl palmitate) penetrate deep into the facial tissues and muscles and give them a new life with extra power to rejuvenate.

Facial scrubs help ironing the creases or wrinkles that are there due to aging and other degenerative changes.

Few of the famous facial scrubs

One can crush half banana and add 1 tbsp of natural honey and 2 tbsp of sour cream. Apply onto the face and let it fix for about 20 minutes. Gently rub out with a damp wash cloth preferably of cotton.

About 2 tbsp of cornmeal mixing with sufficient water to turn into a thick paste makes a excellent though inexpensive facial mask. Apply this onto face and rinse it off.

Take some food-processor or electronic mixture and put half a cucumber, 1 tbsp of yoghurt, some strawberries, and about one tsp of natural honey. Blend it and apply this great solution onto the face and allow becoming dry. Gently rub it off with a damp wash cloth preferably of cotton.

Crush about one tbsp of almonds into a fine paste with the help of a blender. Mix this with 1 tbsp of honey and one fresh egg white. Apply onto the face settle it for about 20 minutes.

For removing blackheads, mix equal parts baking soda and water in your palm and rub gently onto wherever you require glory skin (for 2 to 3 minutes). Wash it with lukewarm water.

Smash about ½ of an avocado and apply onto the whole face. Let this to be there for about ½ hour and then gently rub it off with a cotton damp wash cloth.

Immerse a cup of dried apricots in water until they become soft. Puree in food-processor adding 2 tbsp of skimmed milk powder. Apply onto the face and keep it about 15 minutes before wiping it off

Beat about a handful of strawberries and mix them with about 6 gm of honey. Apply onto the face and let it be there for 20 minutes. Rinse it off with plain water and rub with cotton cloth then after.

Time tested and trusted homemade facial scrub induces mixing about one and a half tsp of natural honey, the juice extracted from half a lemon, and about 100 gm of plain yoghurt. Stir in one lashed egg white. Apply onto the face and keep it there for about 20 minutes. Rinse it off later and wipe with cotton cloth.
