Introduction to the most common problem
Acne cannot be defined as a common term. The word ‘acne’ is an umbrella term, in other words, it is a broad term that used to depict a variety of skin conditions wherein the pores present on the skin get chocked-up with dead skin and/or sebum (the natural secretion – oil like which lubricates skin and hair). Chocked-up pores are then go at risks for having some infection that finally cause rashes, some skin elevations, inflammations, bud like structures that are medically known as whiteheads, blackheads, pimples or in some of the worse condition, the c yst.
The commonest form of acne is Acne vulgaris that is mostly seen in teenagers, generally appears on the face, neck, shoulder, upper-back and chest. However, they can occur anywhere in the body including genitals. Severe acne can end up in scars.
The cure for acne
Generally, acne does not require any cure since they are self limiting. Acne, caused mainly due to hormonal imbalance (during teenage) gets settled after certain age – say around 23-26 year) and hence, they disappear. But, teenage or adolescence is the age where a person is most concerned about her or his look and thus, acne are not allowed to grow anywhere on the body, especially on the face that, for them, is a major tool to attract opposite person!
Fortunately, there are very effective acne home remedies. Some of the effective ones are as follow –
One can use an oatmeal or almond mask thoroughly to cleanse the face suffering from acne. For this, one has to mix either oatmeal or almond powder with adequate rosewater till it turns to be a gentle paste. Spread this onto the skin and gently rub it with the fingertips. A special attention is to be paid while applying and this should not get into the eyes. Keep this to dry for about half an hour and then wash off with cold water. This is very effective to get rid of blackheads and pimples.
Another great acne home remedy is applying a solution that is prepared taking 1½ cup of lukewarm water and about ½ a tbsp of boric powder. This is considered to be an ideal remedy for acne. Immerse face napkin in this hot solution and just place onto the affected area, repeat two times for better results.
Honey is practiced to treat skin blemishes since many years and is also effective to treat acne. Put this in any solution that you make and it enhances the formula. This is because honey possesses natural property to kill bacteria.
Washing the face two times a day with lukewarm salty water leaves the face oil free without worsening the acne.
One can also apply a paste of fresh fenugreek leaves onto the face at nights for about half an hour and rinse it with lukewarm water. This prevents acne, pimples, blackheads, and also creases.
The famous remedy for treating pimple is placing strawberry leaves onto the affected area. Strawberries’ alkalinity helps reducing the swelling.
One can extract the juice from one medium sized lemon and mix with same quantity of rosewater. Application of such mixture onto the face and letting it remain for about 30 minutes is great remedy for any sort of buds over the face. However, the solution is to be rinsed with fresh water. The therapy should be practiced for about fortnight to get its maximum benefits.
Another common approach to treat such condition is massaging the face with the skins of lemons before washing the face with fresh plain water.
Some other opinions
Grandma’s recipes say that applying fresh mint juice onto the face all nights is beneficial for treating acne, pimples and even insect stings and conditions caused due to it such as eczema and scars.
Commonest thing to do is eating plenty of fresh fruits and dark green leafy vegetables. At least five serving of fruit and vegetable must be included as routine diet.
Chill the acne before it worsens your case. For this, ice down the acne before hitting the sack and even when you rise up. Practicing such for about one month noticeably lessens the swelling. This works best on bigger pimples that have not yet organized thier heads.
Researches say that taking vitamin B5 and zinc supplement daily strengthens the skin's resistance to conditions such as blackheads and whiteheads.
Many of beauty experts favor mixing mint juice with turmeric (raw or powdered) and applying onto the affected area. Keep this for about half an hour and rinse it off with lukewarm water gives favorable results in acne.
