Obesity is killer, a silent killer. It brings lots of other diseases that are deadly in long-run. For instance, it is now proven that people who are overweight are more prone to suffer from some chronic dangerous diseases such as cardiovascular strokes, diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, atherosclerosis and hypertension. Some of the worst cases of overweight also lead to infertility.

Apart from bringing all the health ailments, obesity is a subject of criticism. A person who is overweight always needs to bear comments from others, especially if he or she is young. They are always the subject of fun and entertainment among friends. They often feel tired without any hard work and tend to have breathlessness even with slightest exertion. Lethargy, laziness and over sleeping/eating come as a bonus!

Let us now quick look at weight loss tips –

Estimate the weight loss aims and focus on it

This is because changing the eating habits for the long-run is very effective way for getting successful weight loss and hence it is essential spending a bit of time and to think about the aims. There are plenty of reasons for losing weight but one might have a priority. It could be the health, self-esteem or to be visually appealing. Having a clear idea of what exactly is the aim, a focus, helps keeping one on the track.

Mental preparation for weight loss

It is very essential spending a bit of time to prepare yourself mentally for the changes you are going to face since to become successful, one must think of the long term. When the body loses the fats, there are many bodily changes one has to face. The body basically loses fats, energy and probably vitality (at least you feel all these). One should not get afraid and flinch thereon.

Lifestyle and losing weight

A lot of the food we consume is the fast foods or canned/packed foods and so much of it is manufactured and stored adding excessive amounts of sugars, salts and fats. Just by cutting them down and paying more care to the type of foods and changing to healthier alternative means you can still eat well but you lose weight simultaneously!

Cutting down snacks is the way

Snacks, by default, contains fats, oils and spices. If not anything of this, surely sugar. Cutting down the snacks would help you cutting down the calories you take on daily basis. This is because snacks are generally high in calories. The best thing is not having snacks in between meals but if you want to much something in between, go for some fruits or nuts.

Some general tips on weight loss

Only eat when you feel hungry.

Never consume anything unless you feel extremely hungry since eating simply out of habit or boredom does not help you becoming slimmer.

Exercises do help. Exercises burn off calories and hence keep the physique fit and keep toned. It also increases the metabolic rate and hence results in losing weight quickly.

One should reward themselves. When you reach desired weight, be happy and do something that makes you zealous.

Try honey, lukewarm water and half a lemon’s juice. Consume this daily in the morning for about 2 months. This drastically brings down the weight.

Add some herbs such as Garcinia, hoodia, guggulu, tulasi, garlic, Butea. They all have natural anti-obesity properties.

Light aerobics are considered to be very useful in treating obesity.

Latest researches reveal that Yoga and Pranayama (breathing technique) are those holy exercises that keep body in balance and also help losing body weight. They also restore the hormones and enzymes in the body.

Meditation helps making mind strong to control over fatty and favorite foods.

Cut down high calories, dairy products and sweet dishes. Instead, include pungent, bitter and astringent foods. Avoid butter, milky products, cheese and refined flour items.
