Some amazing facts

We are sure that you must not be aware of the hidden truth that what is the biggest enemy of the natural fairness of the skin? The answer is very straightforward: the Black Enzymes. Let us explore something important. Do you know that the skin of Asian people is more likely to get affected by dark spots?

The color of the skin is determined by the amount of pigments (or melanin) present in it. The skins of Asian people contain a heterogeneous mixture of two types of melanin known as phaeomelanin and eumelanin. These ultimately result in pigmentation irregularities like dark spots and increased sensibility to sunrays.

History and present scenario

The history goes centuries back for whitening the skin. However, the purpose has always remained different as for someone, it was professional requirement and for others, it was just hobby to attract people and to be the center of attraction all the time.

In the countries like Japan , geishas (the woman that entertains by her dancing and singing) were and still are far-familiar for their painted white skin that reflects thier beauty, grace, and high social ranks. In Iran , during the Achaemenid dynasty, the farmers and other civil workers used some sort of lightening creams to keep their skin white and soft.

Nowadays, the skin whitening products are readily available in the form of a cream, pill, soap or lotion. The mechanism of permanent skin whitening is generally by the breakdown of something called melanin by enzymes same as that comprised in the dropping of the Japanesebushwarbler or some reducers like Hydroquinone. Most of the whitening creams do contain some UV blocking mechanism for preventing damage of the skin due to sunrays.

The role of skin whitening

Over the past years, esthetic or cosmetic companies and medical experts have been introducing innumerable skin whitening innovations in the glamour industry or market. These products range from high-end niche remedies to budget skin-whitening treatments, all of which promise delivering desirable lightening result of the skin and to offer you that lovely fair complexion skin that any of the person in the world must have had dreamed about.

Skin whitening not only makes the skin’s complexion fair but it also adds the beauty to the skin since the skin becomes radiant and glorious catching everybody’s eyes. People with fair complexion always draw attention wherever they go. Though the face might not be that attractive, if their skins are fair, they certainly make the difference in social parties, get-together and many of those public occasions.

Factors affecting skinand skin whitening

There are many factors that make the skin darker. However, the skin color solely depends upon the genes (like a West Indian woman cannot produce baby looking European!) but certain factors do contribute in making the skin darker than the original one. Few of them are skin roughness, blackheads, large pores and excess facial hairs. They all make skin black and people with such problems certainly require skin whitening therapy or treatment.

Skin whitening is an umbrella term that covers a variety of cosmetic techniques used in whitening the skin, in many parts of the world, especially in East Asian countries, the Americas , the Middle East countries and some parts of Africa . There are numbers of products available to whiten the skin. They range from lotion/creams and to pills and some modern technique including laser therapies.

Some controversies on skin whitening

Unfortunately, some of the skin whitening products/agents contained high levels of mercury as the main ingredients that caused disaster in many people (especially the women) who have had undergone such therapies. For instance, in Mexico , as in other countries like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan , most of the people with clinical evidence of mercury poisoning affected were women. Even in the Southwestern Unites States, 96% of the more than 300 people found to have abnormal mercury levels were ladies.

In each of the case, clinical interviewing exposed that the women have had used skin-whitening creams and that to be for many years. Putting it differently, such women have had tried so desperately whitening their skin color that they have had poisoned their own bodies since they applied highly mercury-based skin-whitening beauty creams. The mercury poisoning is far-familiar for causing neurological and kidney damage and might also lead to some mental disorders.
