Eyes – the symbol of beauty

The sense of sight is probably the most important among the five senses nature has gifted to human being. A sightless person is a misfortunate sight. Anything that interposes with the vision is bothering and a dangerous to the capacity of seeing is the most serious danger among all. One must, therefore, take care of the eyes.

Oftentimes, it is seen that eyes perform the job of the tongue: a bare flickering of the eyelids might express volumes. Eyes do reflect one’s inner mind and whether the eyes are big or small, it is not in anyone’s hand, but caring is certainly. Large eyes surrounded with dark circles are ugly, whereas sparkling eyes, though tiny or small, are attractive and beauteous. One can disguise the face under a coat of make up, but cannot conceal your eyes and hence, the only thing to make eyes beautiful is the constant care.

Where the secret lies

The beauty of the eyes is based on the cleanliness of the body, especially the face. Constipation, for instance, can also make the eyes dirty and muddy. The white of the eyes would no longer remain white; inadequate consumption of water might give them a yellow tinge. Insufficient sweating may give rise to accumulation of poisonous humors in the body and dark circles start appearing around the eyes.

To rub the eyes or prolonged fatigue causes eye bags. Over dry eyes and improper eye care contributes in appearance of creases and crows feet. Towards middle age, the areas around eyes will sag slightly if left untreated.

Eye care tips

One should do eye padding exercises for strengthening the eye area and improving its circulation around that areas. For this, using the third and fourth finger of each hand is better; use gentle pressure and padded movements under the eyes that should start from inside and then go outwards until reaching the temples and pressed there for about ten seconds. Repeat this couple of times and perform this everyday, while applying eye gels, creams or serums, or whenever required without makeup.

One can also use simple step – take cooling cucumber slices and just place them onto each eye, rest for about 15 min and then remove and rinse the eyes and surrounding areas with clean plain water. You can also substitute cucumber slices with potato slices or simply cooling teabags.

If you do not put your choice on vegetables, instead of using vegetables, one can go for using light weight eye gel masque. Apply this around the eyes, rest and keep it there for about half an hour before rinsing the eye areas with plain cool water.

Exercises for eye care

Fold the arms with the hands under the armpits and stand in a relaxed position. Take the shoulders back in a circular movement and get back to the beginning position. Then touch the undersurface of the neck with the chin and then move the head as far back as one can. Next step is to move the head in a circular motion in order to touch first the right and then left shoulder. One should then move in the reverse direction and touch first the left and then right shoulder.

Another simple exercise is to put palms onto the eyes applying very gentle pressure. Be in this position for about 2-3 minutes and then remove the palms. Repeat this procedure at least 5-10 times a day. If you sit on computers, never stare at monitor for more than 20 minutes. if possible, use LCD monitor rather than traditional CRT. Sitting in a chair, follow this simple exercise steps – take off your sight from the computer screen and look some far object. Blink your eyes for about 30-40 times and then close them.

Rotate your eyeballs in a circular motion – first clockwise and then anticlockwise.

Some natural drops for eye care

There are some herbs such as triphala that is considered to be very good for eyes. They soothe the eyes and improve eyesight. They also take off the strains and tiredness from the eyes and offer brightness. Some of the natural eye drops containing mint, holy basil, garlic, honey, triphala is said to be very beneficial in eye care.
