Let us quickly look at how vitamins can help preventing and curing the acne conditions. Our body needs complete nutrition for promoting healthy skin and to prevent acne. There are plenty of vitamins and minerals which are powerful antioxidants capable to flush out free radicals and toxins from the body. Some even have antibacterial effects and boost immunity, both of which are essential in keeping the pores clean of clogging toxins and to heal the damaged skin tissues.

Vitamins for healthy skin – acne free velvety touch

Vitamin A : with carotenoids helps strengthening the protecting tissues of the skin and prevents acne formation since they reduce sebum production. Vitamin A is important for the maintenance and repair of the tissues that the skin and mucous membranes are build up of. Vitamin A is also a potent antioxidant that helps relieving the body of oxidative stress because of free radicals. Many opine that a deficiency in vitamin A can actually cause acne! And hence, it is advisable to take up to 10,000 IU of vitamin A to successfully fight acne but should not take more than 5,000 IU if someone is pregnant.

A good Vitamin B complex also helps maintaining healthy skin tone. This group of vitamins helps relieving anxiety and stress, and stress can be an important factor that can triggers acne. The vitamin B group contains Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (Nicotinic Acid, Niacinamide, or B3), Pantothenic Acid, Pyridoxine (B6) and Cyanocobalamin (B12). Each one of them has a pareticular role in promoting healthy skin, as well as overall wellbeing.

The Thiamine acts as an antioxidant enhancing the circulation, and assisting the body to properly digest the food consumed. One should take 100mg of Thiamine thrice daily to combat acne.

Riboflavin or vitamin B2 goes with Vitamin A and maintains and improves the mucous membranes in the digestive tract. It is also important for healthy skin, hair and nails. Acne is one of the indications of riboflavin deficiency. The dosage of vitamin B2 advocated to fight acne is 100mg, thrice a day.

Niacinamide or vitamin B3 is also essential for healthy skin since it improves circulation and helps the body with the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. A deficiency of Niacinamide can also cause acne.

Pantothenic acid or vitamin B5 is prescribed to help reducing stress, in effect indirectly reducing acne that stress is known to cause. It is also needed for the proper function of the adrenal glands.

Pyridoxine or vitamin B6 is important for the functioning of the immune system and the overall antibody production. A deficiency of vitamin B6 can end in acne since body is not capable fighting bacteria causing acne.

Vitamin C and bioflavonoids are great set of essential antioxidants that are needed for at least 300 metabolic reactions in the body that includes tissues’ growth and repair! Vitamin C would protect against infection and enhance the immunity. Bioflavanoids are proven to have antibacterial actions. The recommended dosage to fight acne is 1gm thrice a day. If one has diabetes, ask the physician about the proper dosage.

Vitamin E is again known antioxidant, which enhances healing and tissues’ repairing. Vitamin also prevents cell damage since it significantly inhibits the oxidation of lipids (fatty tissues) and the formation of free radicals. Health experts suggest taking 400 IU a day of Vitamin E to fight against acne and its related symptoms.

Taking a proper liquid multivitamins with chromium supplement most of the daily requirements for healthy skins that would prevent acne conditions. One should remember to find a multivitamins that one can take at least two times a day. It is very essential to know that taking too much of a vitamins or minerals can be toxic and extremely hazardous. Each supplement has a recommended dosage that one should not exceed by any means. Taking excessive of a vitamin will never decrease the acne relief and is never considered to be healthy. That said, there are so many people with pimples and zits find great relief in the fact that appropriate vitamin levels can cleanse up much, if not all of their acnes.

While purchasing such vitamin supplements, one should check out the quality level, and overall value of the supplement.
