Beauty Massage (Introduction)

The face is an index of the human being. None can hide face; rather it reflexes your mood, inner thoughts and the health both - physically and mentally. It is the first organ, which reflects your personality socially. Many a times we ask our friend that he is not in a mood just by seeing his face that appears dull.

It is known fact that the ageing is an irreversible procedure. Body tissues, muscles and other structure do have ageing. As a person gets older the skin looses its elasticity and finally gets crease on it, popularly known as wrinkles. Is there anything to be done with skin or bodily tissues that the process of ageing can be slower down???

Our skin protects the body from the attacks of weather, microorganisms, dust particles and what not? For this defense mechanism, we have sweat glands (sebaceous glands) which secrets sebum. Sebum is nothing but a clear fluid acts to protect and waterproof hair and skin. It prevents skin from becoming dry, brittle and cracked. The main function is to inhibit the growth of the microorganisms.

As described earlier, it is a clear fluid. Since it comes in the contact with dirt and other polluted material, it gets blocked into the minute holes of the skin. This produces acne etc skin problem.

AGEING –

Most of the scientists agree, that the free radicals injure the cells and promote ageing. Free radicals are nothing but the end product of our breathing. The second theory for getting aged is “browning reaction”. Within the cell, there is constant reaction between glucose and proteins. This reaction changes or damages the proteins in our body and so the expression to the genes ultimately leading to ageing. Yes, none can ignore the role of genes in the ageing.

The thirdly accepted concept is that our body cells lose their ability to divide or multiply. Along with this all the systems of human body gets weakened by means of their functioning cells and tissues. The muscles get starting loose and the tendons, bones, arteries and veins simultaneously start becoming lazy…! Specially the skin looses its elasticity and bones their density.

MASSAGE & SKIN –

Massaging the skin not only nourishes the skin but also tones up it texture. There are millions of cells dying on the surface of the skin per day and are laced by the new one. These dying cells bring black heads and dullness of the skin. Massaging regularly help skin to get rid of those dead cells and get the new one instead of.

Massage techniques do include oily, non-oily, powdered, non-powdered, manipulation with bare hands and so on. These have got certain strokes too, like circular movements, non-circular movements, spherical and hemi-spherical movements as per the place and point where one does the massage.

This helps enhances the elimination of the waste products of metabolism. It also increases the number of red blood cells in circulation and so it facilitates tissue healing. It is believed that massage increases tissue fluid and assists lymphatic circulation thus reducing swelling and enhancing the immune and filtering activities of this system. It regulates both venous and lymphatic flow. Massage increases the nutrition of the tissues via an increased exchange of fluids and materials. Massage, via the mechanical actions on the soft tissues, indeed produces a dilation of the blood vessels, which helps to improve circulation.

As described earlier, the massage is done as per the body’s part or organ. Here are the few organs where the massage is generally performed.
