Earth is the only planet known till date that bears life. The reason for the sustenance of life on earth is suitable range of temperature and availability of food. The temperature range for survival of a living entity is varies from 50 degree centigrade to -30 degree centigrade. Though exceptions are always there, certain microorganisms can bear severe temperature ranges.
Coming to the context of human beings, it is a known fact that we are warm-blooded animals, technically known as homeothermic animals. This means a homeostasis is maintained in the temperature point of view so as to keep the body temperature stable which is 37 degree centigrade. For this we have to take certain measures so as to make our body temperature static. If these measures are not taken then if will be very harsh to survive.
In general, we can say that there are four kinds of seasons that exist on the face of the earth. These are winters, springs, summers and rains. If we do not change according to the requirements of particular season we are facing, our bodies harmony gets disturbed eventually causing diseased condition. As per Ayurveda, all the three humors of the body should be in equilibrium to lead a healthy living but when these face derailment from their main track, our body has to face the music of misery and sufferings. Each season causes a different effect on our body, which has the tendency to imbalance the body’s peace. To counter winters we need to keep warm and to face summers we need to cool down. Our food and lifestyles are the most essential things that need to be stressed to reply these conditions.

You might have experienced that in winters you fell more energetic as compared to summers. This is due to the fact that in summers the energy requirement is quite less as compared to that in winters. Moreover the dietary pattern and desires are all together different in these seasons. If we do not adapt to the changing conditions, it will lead to decrease in health conditions.
Below are few beneficial tips that can help you in coping up with changing climate-
Winter season
- It is always advisable to have oily and heavy food in this season as the energy requirement of our body gets increased and to substitute the food with high calorific value. Heavy foods will contain diary products, non-vegetarian food and sweet things.
- You should also protect yourself from cold weather and always maintain your body temperature to normal by comforting yourself with warm clothes.
- You should also get oil massages done to pacify the skin that becomes dry. It also helps in management of Vata dosha that has the tendency to aggravate in summers.
Spring
- You should consume moderately heavy food in this season. You should be careful in choosing your food and should only accept food when required. You should limit consumption of non-vegetarian foodstuffs. Oat should also be included in your diet.
- One should exercise in the spring season on a regular basis to maintain their health.
- Medicated smoking is also advisable as per ayurvedic view of point is concerned.
- It is always advisable to apply face pack made from sandalwood powder to make your skin healthy.
Summers
- Special care of body is to be taken in this phase of the season as you have the least energy in this phase of time. You should eat light food and non-greasy food as it will be easy in digestion. Drink lots of water and take plenty of fluids like fruit juices, buttermilk etc to fade the chances of dehydration. Non-vegetarian diet should be put to a halt.
- You should protect yourself from heat and try to remain indoors during the daytime. You should wear thin and white clothes to beat the heat.
- It is advisable, not to perform exercise during this season, as it will cause decrease in your body strength.
- Sandalwood face pack is very soothing in such conditions and will also helps in making you skin healthy and retain the glow.
Rains
- It is very important to take care of your body in the rains as this is the time in which your body can face many troubles. You should be very particular about your diet. You should try to consume honey in this season with your food. It will help you fight the deviated vata dosha. You should prefer food that taste sour and salty in this season and should completely avoid sweet food.
- You should protect yourself from getting drenched in the rains and take maximum precautions to avoid exposure to cold breeze that may be harmful to you.
- Oats are recommended in this season and you should try to consume oatmeal in preference to other flour.
