2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Features
Powerplant & Performance
The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is powered by a non-turbo 6300cc V12 engine which has an output of 730hp and 509lb/ft of torque. The transmission will be a F1 twin-clutch and it will combine with the big 12-cylinder powerplant to take the car to a maximum speed of 211mph. The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta goes from 0-100kmph in just 3.1 seconds, while the 0-200kmph is covered in 8.4 seconds. According to Ferrari, the V12 engine on the Berlinetta also has better fuel average than the old V12 and in the European driving cycle, it averages 16mpg.

The car has been designed by Pininfarina in conjunction with Ferrari Styling Center and Scaglietti. The F12 Berlinetta has a lightweight spaceframe chassis and a shell which is constructed using 12 different kinds of alloys, some of which, according to Ferrari, have never been used on a car before. This makes the F12 Berlinetta lighter and more rigid than the car it replaces.
The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta has a very low drag co-efficient of only 0.299 and this has been made possible by details like the ‘aero bridge’ which uses the hood to produce down force by moving the air away from the top part of the car. Then there is the active brake cooling system, which opens vanes to cooling ducts for the brakes when high temperatures are reached.

The wheelbase of the car is shorter than that of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. The seats, engine, instrument panel sits lower in the car, compared to the 599. Ferrari has made changes to the suspension at the rear and the transmission and this has made the rear more compact.
Ferrari has also fitted the F12 Berlinetta with the latest carbon-ceramic brakes, revised suspension control along with an integrated electronic differential, electronic stability programme and other F1-inspired systems. All this hardware gives the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta more speeds while cornering and better stopping distances.

The car which will exhibited at Geneva will be finished in the new Rossa Berlinetta paint scheme which will have three layers, while the cabin will be trimmed in aluminum, carbon fiber and frau leather. The design is very stunning while the performance is just as we expected — devastating.
